course content

The journey commences with understanding the role of a design leader in setting the strategic vision. We explore the concept of the ‘north star’ – the future state that the project aims to achieve. As a design leader, you’ll learn to create and articulate this vision, ensuring alignment within the team and stakeholder engagement. This includes learning to measure objectives, key results, and strategic outcomes, effectively guiding the direction of your design projects.

Next, we delve into the role of the design leader as a diplomat, advocate, and architect. Here, you’ll learn how to communicate the value of design both within your organization and to external stakeholders. This segment focuses on enhancing your influencing skills, advocacy techniques, and strategies to build robust communication pipelines.

A significant part of design leadership involves coaching your team towards their best performance. This involves the ability to understand individual needs, guide team members constructively, and uphold high standards. We’ll equip you with the skills to create a work culture that encourages excellence and maintains momentum.

Finally, the workshop concludes with a deep dive into your personal journey. This phase of the program is designed to help you define your unique leadership style, tone of voice, communication approach, and understanding your intrinsic motivations. You’ll learn to identify your strengths and areas for improvement, creating a roadmap for your future growth as a design leader.
