Design Thinking Specialisation is an immersive course for future innovators and design leaders, enabling participants to develop their creative confidence and innovation skills through a hands-on learning approach. In other words, this is the next step for design-thinkers who want to stand out by becoming expert articulators in innovation.

MEET THE CREW
Juliana Proserpio
Bio: Juliana is the co-founder of Echos, an Innovation Lab, that is the mother company to the School of Design Thinking – a school that puts innovation in practice – and Echos Innovation Projects – a consultancy for service, business and systemic design. Over the last seven years, Juliana has worked to develop an innovation ecosystem in Australia and Brazil to foster the design of desirable futures and design thinking. She has more than 10.000 hours working closely with clients on facilitation design, leading a diverse range of projects in industries such as healthcare, finance, education, retail, technology and consumer goods. Juliana speaks of the power of design to create desirable futures. She spoke at events such as the Global Innovation Summit in San Jose, California, TEDxMaua in Sao Paulo, Brazil, What Design Can Do and the Sydney Design Festival. Juliana has been a judge at the first William Drenttel Award for Excellence in Design since 2015.

Ricardo Ruffo
Bio: As an innovation expert and entrepreneur, Ruffo is a founding partner of various initiatives, including Echos, a global innovation lab that aims to create social value through business and innovation. He is a consultant and speaker on topics such as innovation, entrepreneurship, business design, and growth hacking. Ricardo is an accomplished specialist having attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Berkeley, in the United States, for Entrepreneurship and Innovation studies, as well as the d.school, in Germany, where he studied at the School of Visual Arts and Design Thinking by HPI, for Social Innovation.
Dara Simkin – Play & Creative Confidence
Bio: Dara considers herself a play pioneer and supports professionals, entrepreneurs and change-makers with finding more connection, innovation and creativity in their work. A true kid at heart, she believes play is something we should never lose. As a certified coach, she is in the business of transcending the work-play dualism, to make room for purpose and mastery in the workplace. As a speaker + facilitator, she brings a unique energy and enthusiasm to create a safe, supportive and playful space. Dara studied communications and theatre and has a background in marketing and event management.

Paulina Larocca – Ideation & Creativity
Bio: Paulina Larocca has over 15 years’ experience training people in the science of creative problem solving and inspiring real-life business innovation. She is in demand globally, having worked with multinationals including Absolut Vodka (Sweden) and Diageo, as well as locally by ASX listed companies including Telstra (muru-D) and Seven West Media. Her experience stretches across a diverse range of industries from FMCG, financial services, technology and Government. Paulina has a Master of Science in Creativity and Change Leadership from Buffalo State University of New York. She is a graduate of THNK Creative Leadership School in Amsterdam, which focuses on creative leadership as applied to social change. She is also a Faculty Member at The School of Life and is an in-demand keynote speaker on creativity and innovation. She is the author of two books. Creativity+, out now and Connecting, coming soon. Based in Sydney, Australia, Paulina works with clients all over the world.

Alessandro Floridi – Behavioural Design & Cognitive Science
Bio: Obsessed with design, technology and behavioural science, Alessandro has over 18 years experience in delivering human centred design solutions. He worked for almost four years in Research & Development in one of the biggest innovation hubs in South China. Floridi moved to Australia looking for the “surfer” lifestyle and got back into design working for companies such as NBN, Canon, Deloitte and, currently, Macquarie Bank. Alessandro believes that design, deep user behaviour understanding, and motivational triggers are responsible for creating an exceptional experience.
