We hear people saying all the time: “such thing is an art”. Who has never heard sentences such as “making desserts is an art”? And people are right, mundane tasks when taken to the next level can become art forms, just look at what Adriano Zumbo does to his desserts, for example.

When it comes to innovation, our brains usually take us straight to technology and sometimes forget about a huge factor in being innovative: creativity.

Guy Kawasaki is an expert in innovation. Kawasaki has a vast resume in tech and Innovation having worked for companies such as Apple, back in the Macintosh days. He is also the person who popularised the term “technology evangelist” – “A technology evangelist is a person who builds a critical mass of support for a given technology, and then establishes it as a technical standard in a market that is subject to network effects.[1] The word evangelism is taken from the context of religious evangelism due to the similarity of relaying information about a particular set of beliefs with the intention of converting the recipient. There is some element of this although some would argue it’s more of showcasing the potential of a technology to lead someone to want to adopt it for themselves.” (source: Wikipedia)

In this extremely interesting Ted Talk, Kawasaki talks about what he calls “the art of innovation”.
